The comprehensive repair of the ferry Ciudad de Buenos Aires<\/em> was completed at Slipway No. 1. The works were carried out in accordance with the shipowner\u2019s requirements and under the technical regulations of the Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina).<\/strong><\/p>

On the hull, partial replacements of plates and associated structures were executed in the bow and stern areas on both port and starboard sides, including reinforcements, bulkhead patches, and renewals in ballast and fuel tanks. These boiler-making works were followed by thickness gauging, non-destructive testing (NDT), and calibration of the anchor system chains. Subsequently, hydrojetting with deep cleaning was performed on the underwater hull, and three coats of paint were applied, along with the regulatory draft marks, load line, vessel name, and tank signage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Regarding the propulsion and steering systems, the rudder stocks and blades, as well as the propeller and intermediate shaft lines, were dismantled, aligned, and calibrated, including contact tests for propeller installation. Rudder and stern tube bushings \u2014both internal and external\u2014 were installed, and the seals of both shaft lines were replaced, followed by the corresponding hydraulic tests.<\/p>

In terms of habitability, subfloors and flooring were removed in internal compartments, including sections of the former galley and areas between bulkheads.<\/p>

Additionally, cleaning and bilge pumping operations were carried out in bilges, tanks, buoyant spaces, and hard-to-reach areas. Gratings for the bow thruster tunnel, porthole covers, ladders, and structural signage were manufactured and installed.<\/p>
