Naval Industry
CINAR (Argentina´s Industrial Naval Complex) comprised by TANDANOR and Alte. Storni shipyards, is a conglomerate that leads the recovery process of Argentina´s naval activity. With over 140 years of experience, CINAR is one of the major players in the region within the areas of repair and construction of ships and barges of various kinds, topsides and all kinds of large ships..
Strategically located in the south basin of Buenos Aires main commercial port; its top level infrastructure, which harbors the largest Syncrolift in Lationamérica and Alte. Storni´s 55 thousand square meters of covered sheds; together with an internationally reknown and experienced workforce; positions CINAR as the largest naval complex in Argentina.
Within 34 hectares of land, CINAR carries out ship-repair tasks to vessels from all over the world, and ships and barges of the most diverse categories are constructed. Tandanor and Alte. Storni work as a functional unit, serving major shipping companies and oil companies across the globe.
Capabilities
With the aim on enhancing its infrastructure facilities, CINAR has made a significant investemnet in state-of-the-art machinery and equipment in order to maintain its high standads and best practices.
Added to its 55.000 quare meters of covered sheds, its Syncrolift and its six sleepways for driedocking, new technologies were incorporated which enabled the execution of any particularly complex metalworking endeavor..
THE COMPLEX HAS THE CAPACITY TO PROCESS 15,000 TONNES OF STEEL ANNUALLY
With these acquisitions the capacity to process steel has increased up to 15,000 tons of a year. In addition, the complex can now prepare, cut and fold metal plates of different thicknesses, and manufacture curved metal parts, molded and with complex geometric configurations.
Moreover CINAR also sealed partnerships with distinguished companies, with the aim of satisfying all customer needs in the areas of design, engineering and construction for any metal structure. DINCOA, CIMSA, among others, contribute their know-how and experience, hence contributing to execution of major projects.

Repairs
The shipyard Tandanor is CINAR´s area where repairs and naval conversions are performed. Currently the complex receives annually more than 100 vessels from all over the world.
Founded as a Navy Naval Shipyard on November 10, 1879, it has acquired throughout its rich history an important international prestige and, in terms of production capacity, is currently the largest ship repairs yard in Latin America and the third largest in the world.
TANDANOR HAS THE LARGEST SHIP-RISING PLATFORM IN THE REGION - ITS SYNCROLIFT
The Syncrolift is an important competive advantage, as through this rail and lifting system streamlines the shipyard´s working space whilst reducing the average construction times.
In addition, the yards harbor 1,400 meters of docks and six slipways – 220 m, 178 m, 149 m, 148 m, 80 m and 80 m – for drydocking any type of vessel.
CINAR has a top-level infrastructure, a staff of highly trained professionals, engineers, and technicians to perform all kinds of repair works and conversions

Construction
By the end of 2005, CINAR created the Construction Division with the aim of diversifying its commercial strategy and deliver solutions beyond naval repairs and, expand into building, tugs and barges and other types of vessels.
Consequently, it fostered Almirante Storni facilities, formerly known as the factory of submarines Domecq-Garcia, by purchasing cutting-edge machinery to tackle all necessary aspects for shipbuilding, from hard metal treatment to the ship´s inhabitable areas.
Almirante Storni workshops have a world class infrastructure with 33,000 (roofed) m² essential for activity. The covered sheds with its cranes and multiple services, allow us to work 365 days a year regardless of weather conditions. The workshops have a processing capacity of 15,000 tons of steel a year.
PERFORMED WORKS
The first barge departures from the Compound were the containers «Care», «Conay I» and «Conay II», and the one designed for dry goods, «Float Cristina”; followed by 4 barges type BOX and RAKE delivered to the province of Chaco. Currently, we are building two double hull tank barges for transporting fuel for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Also, at CINAR facilities the Damen Stan Tug 2608 was built from scratch, a shooting tugboat for Damen Shipyard Holland, 26 meters long and 8 meters wide. The construction, commissioning and the subsequent harbor tests were performed in yard facilities, and with local labor force. In addition to complying with the class rules, IMO, MARPOL and SOLAS, the tug received the classification of Lloyds Register of Shipping for boats capable of sailing in deep waters in any area and time of year.
